Impress Communications Is First In The West with Highcon’s Revolutionary Laser Die-Cutter

Chatsworth, CA – Impress Communications’ entire print communications facility is abuzz with excitement. The cutting-edge Highcon Euclid III has just arrived, and everyone is excited to showcase the amazing capabilities of this technological breakthrough. RSVP to the Open House

The Highcon’s laser-cutting ability will revolutionize the kinds of print and packaging solutions that Impress will offer their customers. Using an advanced array of carbon dioxide lasers, the Highcon Euclid III can precisely cut out intricate patterns, which would otherwise be impossible to achieve with traditional steel rule cutting dies.

What’s more, given that Highcon’s laser die-cutting is done through a digital interface, it means that projects can be customized to feature variable data like names, or even unique designs on each finished piece.

“The shelf presence that laser die-cutting can add to packaging is utterly eye-catching. Not only does it instantly differentiate a product from a crowded marketplace, but it communicates an unequaled amount of perceived value,” says Impress Communications’ Executive Director, Paul Marino. “Everything from retail cartons and holiday sleeves to press kits and direct mailers need to be envisioned with a new perspective given the immense impact laser die-cutting brings to a design.”

In addition to using the lasers for intricate die-cuts, the Highcon is able to create an etching effect on paper by modulating the intensity of the laser, carving out a design without going all the way through the sheet. Marino adds, “the precision of laser-etching is remarkable, we can cut to different depths within a substrate, each level of which results in a completely different look and tactile feel.”

“While we are excited about the Highcon’s capabilities, I’m even more excited for the true innovations that will be realized once our customers can bring their full creativity to bear on the near limitless possibilities,” says Paul Marino.

The Highcon Euclid III is not only unique for its lasers, but also for its scoring and die-cutting abilities. It will join Impress’ cutting-edge Xerox digital printing platforms, and will also serve as the perfect complement to a wide array off offset jobs that can benefit from the unique finishing touch of laser die-cutting.
